Pixel Mines

🧠 Mine puzzle

About Pixel Mines

Pixel Mines is a retro pixel logic puzzle: dig through a cave of dirt tiles, where each number tells you how many hidden bombs touch that tile. Every one of the 24 boards is checked by a solver so it can be cleared by pure logic from the sparkling start tile — you never have to guess.

Dig through a pixel cave one dirt block at a time — numbers tell you how many hidden bombs touch each tile, so reason your way to every gem without a single guess.

How to play Pixel Mines

Mouse

Click a dirt tile to dig it and right-click to plant a flag. Click a number whose flags are all placed to dig its remaining neighbours at once.

Touch

Tap to dig and long-press to flag, or switch the DIG / FLAG toggle below the board. Tap a finished number to open its other neighbours.

Keyboard

Move with the arrow keys, Space or Enter to dig, F to flag, X to switch DIG / FLAG mode, H for a hint, R to restart.

💡 Tips & tricks

  • Always start on the gold 'DIG HERE!' tile — it is guaranteed safe and opens a pocket of the cave.
  • A 1 that touches only one hidden tile means that tile is a bomb; flag it, then every other tile around that 1 is safe.
  • Compare neighbouring numbers: if one number's hidden tiles are all shared with another, the difference tells you where the extra bombs are.
  • Near the end, check the bomb counter — if it matches the hidden tiles left, they are all bombs.

✨ Features

  • 24 hand-tuned levels growing from 6×6 to 9×13, all solvable without guessing
  • Tap, long-press, right-click and keyboard controls with a DIG / FLAG toggle

  • Retro pixel art with a CRT glow, and progress saved in your browser

Pixel Mines FAQ

Will I ever have to guess?

No. Each board was generated and checked by a logic solver starting from the highlighted tile, so every safe tile can be deduced from the numbers.

What happens if I dig a bomb?

The level ends. You can try again, or watch an optional ad to undo that dig — the bomb is flagged for you and your progress stays.

How are stars awarded?

Three stars for clearing a level with no hints and no undo, two stars if you used one, and one star otherwise.
