About Flipside

Flipside is a short card roguelike played on a lamp-lit card table. Every card has two halves: drag it onto the enemy to use the red top half, or onto your side to use the blue bottom half. Switch halves from card to card to build Weave, a bonus that raises every number, and fight through six stops to a golem that changes faces each turn.

A two-sided card roguelike: play each card's attack or defence half, and switch halves to power up your numbers.

How to play Flipside

Mouse

Drag a card onto the enemy to play its top half, or onto your side to play its bottom half. You can also hover a card and click a half.

Touch

Drag a card onto the enemy for its top half or onto your crest for its bottom half. Or tap a card to enlarge it, then tap a half.

Keyboard

Tab picks a card, Up plays its top half, Down plays its bottom half, Esc cancels and E ends your turn.

💡 Tips & tricks

  • Each switch between top and bottom halves adds 1 Weave. Green numbers on your cards already include the bonus.
  • Check the enemy's intent before you play. On a big attack turn, mix in bottom halves to block while keeping the chain going.
  • Charged Slash gains 4 damage per Weave, so play it at the end of a long chain.
  • The Two-Faced Golem takes more from top halves on its red face and half as much on its blue face.

✨ Features

  • 15 two-sided cards with an illustration on each half
  • Six enemies with clear intents, an elite knight and a boss that switches between a red and a blue face
  • Daily Challenge: the same seeded run for everyone, with a result line to share
  • Drag, tap, mouse and keyboard controls

Flipside FAQ

How long is a run?

About 8 minutes: two fights, an elite, a campfire, an empowered fight and the boss. After each fight you pick one of three new cards or skip.

What is Weave?

When a card uses a different half from the card before it, Weave goes up by 1 and that card's numbers go up by the Weave count. Using the same half again resets it, and it also resets every turn.

How is the Daily Challenge scored?

Everyone gets the same enemies, draws and rewards that day. A clear scores 1000, plus 10 per HP left, minus 8 per turn. A loss scores 150 per stop cleared. Your best daily score is saved on your device.
